SpiceJet suspends Kabul flights over security issues

Budget airline SpiceJet has announced suspension of Kabul-bound flights in view of the security situation there. In a release issued to the press, SpiceJet said it has “decided to temporarily suspend Kabul flights until the situation improves.

The airport in Kabul came under rocket attack on July 3 when a SpiceJet flight was pushing back. The airport again came under attack yesterday.” It further said that the step has been taken to ensure safety of “our passengers and crew” and offered passengers a full refund. The airline said it will also try to request other airlines that operate to Kabul to accommodate its passengers “if they still desire to travel”.
