Nifty ends higher for 5th consecutive session

NIFTY : closed at 5,687.25, up 33 points or 0.58%, after hitting the 5,700 mark in an intra-day trade

SENSEX : too touched the 19,000 level, before shutting shop at 18,943.14, up 127.50 points or 0.68%

The BSE Auto, Capital Goods and Bank indices led the rally today, with gaining 1.2-1.5%

SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC and PNB witnessed some profit booking at higher levels, before closing 0.7-1.4% higher

Bajaj Auto, Maruti, Hero Honda and M&M were up 0.6-1.6%. Heavyweights like Bharti Airtel, ONGC, L&T, NTPC, Wipro and HUL rallied 1-2.5%

Sun Pharma topped the selling list among largecaps, with falling more than 3%. Infosys, TCS, Sterlite, DLF, Jaiprakash Associates, Reliance Communications, Sesa Goa, Ranbaxy, Tata Steel, Hindalco and BPCL were other losers

In midcap space, Sterlite Tech climbed 17.5% and Parsvnath surged 11.5%. Unichem Labs, M&M Financial and Torrent Pharma gained 5-7%. However, Shree Global, Den Networks, Aurobindo Pharma, Va Tech Wabag and Glodyne Tech lost 6-9%.

In smallcap space, Asian Star, Falcon Tyres, Elantas Beck, Koutons Retail and Globus Spirits rallied 8-19%. However, Bhagwati Banq, Kiri Industries, EIH Associated Hotel, Nirlon and Prakash Steelage fell 6-8%.
