The Indian equity indices ended lower for the second consecutive session on September 20
Nifty falling below 19,900 amid selling in heavyweights and across the sectors, barring power stocks
Nifty was opened at 20000 and fell to 19880 then ended 19901
Nifty was down 231.90 points or 1.15 percent at 19,901.40
Sensex was down 796 points or 1.18 percent at 66,800.84
Biggest losers on the Nifty were HDFC Bank, JSW Steel, Reliance and BPCL
While gainers included Power Grid Corporation, Coal India, ONGC, Sun Pharma
Amongst sectors, except power, all other sectoral indices ended in the red with bank, metal and realty down one percent each
Midcap index shed 0.30 percent and Smallcap index declined 0.5 percent
FIIs net sold 3110 crore while DIIs net sold 573 crore on Sept 20
Canada Pension fund hold Kotakbank, Zomato, Nykaa and Industowers large quantity
Hyundai Motor India net profir jumps 62.3% to Rs 4709 crore in FY 2023
US markets erased all the gains and ended negative
US FED keeps policy rates unchanged at 5.5% on expected lines
The Fed’s statement sounded very hawkish
November rate hike is on the table as the Fed sees stronger growth and higher inflation ahead
FedEX rises 5% in after hours trading and better than expected Q1
Dow down 0.22%, Nasdaq declined 1.53% and S&P500 fell 0.94%
US VIX ended 15.12 up 7.3%
US 10-year yield climbes highest level since 2007 to 4.4%
Brent crude falls below $93/bbl
Gold prices slip to $1920/oz
Dollar index sustained around 104.75
Asian markets lower in early trade
Hangseng and Kospi down 1% each
