Economic Survey: Inflation seen easing as global prices to cool

The Economic Survey sees inflation easing this fiscal on softening global prices. It also sees industrial growth reviving in the next couple of years.

Among other things, it sees current account deficit to be at 2.1 percent of GDP this fiscal, but cautioned that sustaining the improvement would be a challenge in the medium term.

The Survey feels that capital controls are hampering the globalization of the economy, and called for a mechanism to fight capital flight and global environment.

The Survey stressed on the need to optimize procurement cost of power, and said there was a need to permit commercial coal mining by private companies.
