Sensex and Nifty entered the January series expiry week on shaky ground, weighed down by a cocktail of factors
Weak global cues, disappointing Q3 earnings, U.S. trade policy uncertainty
Foreign outflows. Reflecting this nervousness, the India VI surged over 8 percent
Sensex was down 824 points or 1 percent at 75,366
Nifty was down 275 points or 1.2 percent at 22,817
The broader market took a severe hit, with midcap and smallcap indexes plunged 2-4 percent

All 13 sectoral indices ended in the red
Nifty Energy, IT, Metal, Media, Oil & Gas, and Pharma bearing the brunt, tumbling 2-5 percent
CDSL shares tumbled 10 percent following a weak sequential quarterly performance
Bucking the trend, private lender ICICI Bank rose over 1 percent after reporting higher quarterly profit
The Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold equities worth Rs 5,015 crore on January 28
On the other hand, domestic institutionals bought equities worth Rs 6,642 crore on the same day
Nasdaq posted its biggest one-day percentage drop since Dec. 18 on Monday
As a low-cost Chinese artificial intelligence model prompted a steep selloff in U.S. chipmakers
AI leader Nvidia sank 17%, and it erased about $593 billion in stock market value
Microsoft shares fell 2.1% and Google-parent Alphabet dropped 4.2%
while AI server maker Dell Technologies declined 8.7%
An index of semiconductor stocks dropped 9.2% in its biggest single-day percentage fall since March 2020
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 289.33 points, or 0.65%
S&P 500 lost 88.96 points, or 1.46%
Nasdaq Composite lost 612.47 points, or 3.07%
US 10-Year Treasury added 40 bps at 4.55
Dollar index sustains 108
Brent crude fell 2% to $77/bbl
Bitcoin below $100000
Asian markets were set to mixed trend in early trade
Nikkei down 0.5% and Hangseng up 0.15%

GiftNifty indicates a positive opening for the index
Nifty is facing a intraday resistance 22880 and 22940
If stays above 22940 will try to move 23000 and 23080

On other side, Nifty considering a supports 22790 and 22740
Below 22740 finding a next support around 22650
