The market failed to hold onto the opening gains to end on a negative note on October 15
Nifty finishing below 25,100 dragged by auto, metal and pharma names
Sensex was down 152.93 points or 0.19 percent at 81,820.12
Nifty was down 70.70 points or 0.28 percent at 25,057.30.
Mixed trend was seen on the sectoral front, with metal index down 1.5%, auto down nearly 1%
while realty index rose 2 percent and media index was up 0.7 percent
Broader indices outperformed, with BSE midcap index was up 0.3% and smallcap index added 1%
FIIs sold equities worth Rs 1748 crore on October 15
while domestic institutional investors bought equities worth Rs 1654 crore
US stocks closed down on Tuesday
following world stocks lower as a weak sales forecast from chipmaker ASML weighed on tech shares
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 324.60 points, or 0.75%
S&P 500 fell 44.54 points, or 0.76%
Nasdaq Composite fell 187.10 points, or 1.01%
Nvidia, AMD and Intel fell up to 5%
Taiwan TSMC result on Thursday
Brent crude below $75/bbl
Gold and Silver prices were trading flat at around USD 2662 and USD 31.49 in the early trade on Wednesday.
The US 10-year Treasury yield was up 10 bps at 4.03 percent
Asian market were set to lower opening
Nikkei down 2% and Hangseng up 0.5%
