Nifty last close: 24323.85
The broader indices touched their record highs and outperformed the main indices in the week ended July 5
Benchmarks also hitting fresh highs, rallying for the fifth straight week
On last week,BSE Sensex rose 963.87 points or 1.21 percent to close at 79,996.60
Nifty50 index gained 313.2 points or 1.30 percent to close at 24,323.80
Mid and Small-cap indices touched record highs on July 4, gaining 3 percent and 4 percent
Large-cap index added 1.5 percent, hitting fresh on July 4
Among sectors, the Nifty IT index jumped 4.3%, the Nifty Pharma index rose 3.6%
Nifty Media index gained 2.7% and the Nifty Oil & Gas index rose 2.6%
FIIs continued extending their support this week as they bought Rs 6,874.66 crore worth of equities
Domestic Institutional Investors (DII) remained net sellers as they sold equities worth Rs 385.29 crore
Wall Street stock indexes closed firmer on Friday
Dow gained 0.17%, Nasdaq rallied 0.9% and S&P500 gained 0.5%
Nasdaq and benchmark S&P 500 hitting record highs
Focus this week, Citigroup and JPMorgan chase to report results
